History

1978 Grayson was formed to service aftermarket customers. By 1994 Grayson was the largest re-manufacturer of service exchange radiators in Europe.
1996 Commenced manufacture on current site, bringing in-house manufacture of copper / brass cooling elements.
1997 Entry into Bus / Coach market offering UK nationwide delivery of bus / coach cooling system parts. Offered high technical input into bus operating companies.
1998 This led to Grayson entering the OEM equipment market offering design, manufacture and delivery of a complete cooling module. Successfully patented the ™ Cassette 2 radiator offering removal and refit in just 1 hour.
1998 Re engineered 500 cooling systems for London Buses resulting in huge improvement in reliability and reducing vehicle off the road time.
2000 Dennis Bus and Optare opt for Grayson as strategic partner for cooling system design and supply of complete cooling modules.
2000 Iveco and Dennis Eagle opt for Grayson product for all specialist vehicle production meeting Euro 3 emission standards.
2002 Aluminium Brazing commenced at our Wharfdale Rd site producing charge air coolers and oil coolers.
2004 Introduction of sheet metal fabrication and fuel tank rolling equipment.
2004 VDL Buses (Formerly DAF Bus) – Netherlands opt for Grayson system on DB250 double deck product.
2004 Expansion of parts business into global market receiving orders from Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania and China.
2005 Major order for 8 000 units per annum received from Perkins Engines.
2005 New aluminium line started for production of CV (Truck) radiators and charge air coolers.
2006 Pre production build first of heavy duty aluminium radiator for Bus, Coach and specialist equipment markets.
2006 New Parts warehouses opened in Oldham and Basingstoke to increase Grayson presence in Parts market.
2006 Appointment of European Business Development manager to allow Grayson to expand passed the limited manufacturers the UK market offers.
2006

Testing of Euro 4 cooling system undertaken with successful pass on ALL Euro 4 applications.

2006 Grayson awarded cooling system supply contract for Modec, builders of an All Electric van to be launched early 2007.
2007 After 3 months Sales & Engineering development work Grayson win significant new order from Linde Fork Trucks.
2007 Grayson awarded new DD project by VDL Bus in Netherlands.
2007 Ikarbus - Serbia select Grayson for supply of cooling module for buses heading into Russia and Eastern Europe.
2007 Solaris Bus – Poland select Grayson high performance cooling system for 250 bus contract for Dubai.
2007 Grayson selected for BAE systems order for 800 military vehicles destined for Saudi Arabia
2008

3 year business plan currently under construction for further expansion of Grayson organisation. Objectives to include :-

2008) Appointment of business development manager for North America.

2009) Continued expansion of cooling system range throughout Europe.

2009) Acquisition of additional aluminium brazing facilities to quadruple aluminium production.

2009) Relocation to larger manufacturing site for OE production.

2009) New recycling centre to be built at Wharf Rd site for the recycling of copper brass and aluminium products.
